Defensive Driving

Environmental Health & Safety is offering the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC) at no charge to MSU employees (including student workers).  After participating in the 4-hour session, attendees will receive a nationally recognized certification from the National Safety Council.  The NSC’s certification is accepted in more states than any other driver improvement or driver education program for insurance discounts. Participants must bring their driver's license number and the expiration date for the certification. Each session is limited to 20 participants and a minimum of 8 participants are required to hold the class.  For additional information, please email us at ehs@msstate.edu. To request a training for your group, please fill out the form below.

UTV Safety Training

UTV's have become a large portion of vehicles on campus and can be very dangerous if not driven correctly. To ensure that UTV operators are well-informed about these potential hazards and equipped with the necessary skills to operate UTVs safely, we have established a training program. This program will cover the various hazards common to UTV operation, maintenance procedures, and safety tips.
