EH&S provides training opportunities for individuals to be trained in adult first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Live & Blended Classes
Adult CPR AED
This course is intended for individuals who are not professional rescuers or health providers who are occupationally required or desire to be trained and/or certified in adult CPR AED. The goal is to help individuals obtain and improve their skills and knowledge to alleviate suffering, protect and preserve life, and promote recovery. This training is recommended to be completed every 2 years.
Adult First Aid
This course is intended for individuals who are not professional rescuers or health providers who are occupationally required or desire to be trained and/or certified in adult first aid. This class will provide individuals with the knowledge needed to respond to sudden injuries and medical emergencies. This training is not designed for pediatric first aid and does not meet pediatric regulatory training requirements. This training is recommended to be completed every 2 years.
Adult First Aid | CPR AED
This course is intended for individuals who are not professional rescuers or health providers who are occupationally required or desire to be trained and/or certified in adult first aid and CPR AED. This class will not only teach you how to perform adult CPR and use an AED but will also provide individuals with the knowledge needed to respond to sudden injuries and medical emergencies. This training is not designed for pediatric first aid and does not meet pediatric regulatory training requirements. This training is recommended to be completed every 2 years.
Blended Courses
Blended courses allow individuals to complete their training online via a link provided by HSI. Once the online training is complete, performance evaluations can be scheduled with our authorized HSI instructor. For the blended option, departments must purchase cards in advance and provide a list of participants in order for the online training links to be provided through HSI. If you would like to request a blended course, please indicate this option under additional information on the Request a Training form.
Basic First Aid (No Certification) - Online Course
This course will discuss basic first aid fundamentals, choking, environmental and medical emergencies, and musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries. This course does not include a first aid certification card.
CPR AED & First Aid Certification Cards
CPR AED and first aid training are presented by an authorized HSI instructor. HSI certification cards may be purchased by departments for employees who complete CPR AED and first aid courses using the form below. For blended courses, cards must be purchased in advance in order to obtain a link for online instruction from HSI. Cards should only be purchased if CPR is required as part of an employee's job duties.
